Houston Rockets – Oklahoma City Thunder Predictions & Odds

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Houston Rockets betting tips and predictions for Monday’s NBA game. The worst team in the NBA is looking to win 3 games in a row as the Houston Rockets welcome the Oklahoma City Thunder to town. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Oklahoma City ThunderThe Oklahoma City Thunder have been on a poor run lately, mainly because of injuries. They’ve dropped 5 straight and 7 of their last 8 games. Their latest defeat comes against the Washington Wizards 101-99 at home, but at least they were able to cover the spread in that game. They also got their best player back from injury as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finally played after missing two straight against Atlanta and Utah. In his absence players like Lu Dort stepped up big time, but there is no question that with him back this team is a lot better. Despite the recent losing streak, bettors have really enjoyed Thunder games this season as they’ve covered the spread 13 times in 19 outings. On the road they are 6-3 ATS in 9 games, plus they have a 5-2 ATS record in their last 7 vs Houston.

Houston Rockets

Houston RocketsHouston winning two games in a row is something we didn’t imagine was possible, but here we are. The Rockets first beat the Chicago Bulls 118-113 and then followed it up with a big overtime win 146-143 over the Charlotte Hornets. They are no longer the laughing stock of the entire NBA as prior to the Bulls game they were on a 15-game losing streak. What was even more impressive about the Hornets game, they were able to beat them despite being without their 2nd leading scorer Jalen Green. He will probably sit this one out as well, as he has a leg injury that will keep him out for an extended period of time. Rumors around the Rockets have suggested that this team could bring back John Wall, who has been told he will sit out the year, despite being healthy and ready to go. The Rockets want to focus on developing younger players, but if they decide to bring Wall back, that should definitely make them better.

This will only be the 3rd time this season the Rockets enter a game as the favorite. I know they’ve won 2 in a row, but I’m just no yet ready to trust them. OKC is finally healthy and have their best player, I think they end the losing streak tonight. Give me the Thunder to cover.

OKC +2.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

Scoring in the last 10 meetings has gone down significantly, as these two teams are averaging just 214.5 points per game. Neither of them has shot the ball well during that stretch, the Thunder are at 42%, while the Rockets are just slightly better at 43%. OKC games this season have trended towards the under with 10 of their last 14 cashing on that bet. It’s also worth pointing out that 7 of their last 8 vs Western Conference teams have all gone under the total. We can say pretty much the same for Rockets games, despite them being the fastest paced team in the NBA this season. 13 of their last 20 have gone under the total, including 6 of their last 8 vs the Thunder. This is a meeting of the 29th and 30th ranked teams in the NBA in offensive rating, I’m expecting a ton of missed shots in this one. So let’s back the Under
