Charlotte Hornets vs Houston Rockets betting tips and predictions for Saturday’s NBA game. The 2-16 Houston Rockets are looking for their 2nd win in a row as they take on the Charlotte Hornets. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
It was a big win for the Hornets last night as they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 133-115. They scored 30 or more points in each of the 4 quarters and on the night they destroyed the Wolves from three-point land by draining 23 of 40 attempts. Kelly Oubre Jr. was on fire off the bench draining 7 threes as he ended the game with 27 points in just 27 minutes played. All 5 starters also scored in double digits in what was probably the best scoring game of the season for the Hornets. The win means they’ve won 8 of their last 9 games and bettors have been happy with them covering the spread 7 times during that stretch. They turn their attention to one of the worst team in the NBA against who they’ve won just once in the last 15 road games. However, the Rockets had James Harden for most of those 15 games, so it’s not really the same team they are facing tonight.
Houston we no longer have a problem, at least for now. The Rockets were able to end a long 15-game losing streak with a surprising 118-113 home win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night. It was a balanced scoring night as 4 starters and 4 bench players all scored in double figures, led by Daniel House Jr. who had 18 points. As a team the Rockets shot 50% from the field and drained 17 of 36 three-pointers. They’ll be without their rookie Jalen Green tonight who is out with a leg injury. The Rockets are just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games and playing at the Toyota Center they’ve covered the spread just 14 times in their last 51 games.
It’s all about Charlotte here, they are by far the more talented team and aiming to win as many games as possible, while the Rockets really have no incentive to win as they are in a rebuilding mode. Hornets are 6-6 on the road this season, which is solid. I expect them to improve on that tonight. Give me Charlotte to cover.

Both teams have been red hot scoring-wise in their last game. Charlotte dropped 133 against Minnesota, including 23 threes. The Rockets got their 2nd win of the season thanks to 17 threes made against the Bulls en route to 118 points. These are the 1st and 2nd ranked teams in terms of pace this season, so I think it’s pretty safe to say we’ll see a ton of attempts from distance in tonight’s game. On the road this season the Hornets all the 4th most points at 113.1 per game, while Houston is at 109.1 per game allowed at the Toyota Center. It’s worth noting that the Hornets have played in 4 back-to-back scenarios this season and in 3 of those games the total has cashed on the over. I’m confident we’re in for a high paced game here, so let’s back the over.
