Golden State Warriors

Golden State WarriorsStephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all missed the Warriors game at San Antonio at the start of the week, but it didn’t matter as the reserves got the job done 124-120. It was the 2nd game in a row in which the Warriors scored 120 or more points and the offense seems to be clicking regardless who is on the court for them. Despite winning 7 games in a row they’ve failed to close the gap at the top of the Western Conference.

Phoenix remains 1st with a 3-game advantage over them, but Golden State does have the best home record in the West at 24-4 at the moment. Against the Kings tonight they’ll get Curry, Wiggins and Thompson all back, while Draymond Green remains out as he recovers from a back injury. In head-to-head meetings they’ve beaten Sacramento in 6 of the last 10, they’ve also covered the spread in 4 of their last 5 vs Western Conference teams.

Sacramento Kings

Sacramento KingsThe Kings celebrated an unlikely home win last night over the Brooklyn Nets 112-101 which ended a 7-game losing streak. It was a balanced effort on the attack as 7 Kings players scored in double figures, led by former Warriors wing Harrison Barnes who had 19 on the night. Despite allowing their opponent to shoot 48% from the field, Sacramento did a stellar job against James Harden holding him to just 4 points on the night. What makes the win even more impressive is the fact that their best player D’Aaron Fox didn’t play, he remains questionable for tonight’s game as well with an ankle injury. The Kings currently have 12 losses in a row on the road, but they’ve actually done quite well in head-to-head meetings with Golden State covering the spread in 9 of the last 12 meetings.

Golden State enters this game as 13 point favorites, that sounds like a lot of points to me. But then again they just recently beat Houston by 14 and Dallas by 38 points, so they are capable of blowing teams out. With a rested Curry, Thompson and Wiggins I think they are able to do so against the struggling Kings. Back the Warriors to cover.

Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings Predictions & Odds

The Kings have struggled heavily on the offensive end without their best player Fox. They did score 112 last night against Brooklyn, but the Nets are hardly a measuring stick right now as they’ve dropped 6 games in a row. In their last 4 of 5 games the Kings have scored 96, 101, 104 and 75 points.

Tonight they are going up against one of the best defensive teams in the NBA in Golden State. They have the best home record in the league when it comes to opponent points per game holding teams to 99.8 points. Golden State also has the rebounding advantage here and if Fox once again doesn’t suit up it could be a long night for the Kings. If we look at the 3 most recent head-to-head meetings we can see the under cashing in all 3 of them.

That’s been the theme in Sacramento games recently with 4 of their last 5 cashing on that bet, plus 9 of their last 13 against Pacific Division teams. The last 4 of 5 games between these 2 teams played at Chase Center have all gone under the total, so that could be a sign of things to come in tonight’s game. Let’s back the under in this one.
