It was only a matter of time when the Warriors were going to win a road game in the series and it finally happened in Game 5. It was another high scoring game, this team just thrives in that environment and we saw it on full display as Steph Curry scored 31 points, while 3 others in Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green got 20 or more.
This will be the first opportunity for the Warriors to clinch the series, they head into tonight’s game as 7.5 point favorites and with a healthy 5-0 SU record in their last 5 home games and an 8-0 ATS run vs the Kings at Chase Center in the last 8 games played. Closing out a team in the playoffs is the toughest game there is, so I’m excited to see if the Warriors still have it.
Sacramento Kings
The fairytale of the Kings is in jeopardy at the moment. All the good things they’ve done this season have been thrown away after the 3rd straight loss in the series and now they have the game of their season in front of them on the road, where they’ve gone 25-16 SU which was the best record in the West. De’Aaron Fox played through his broken index finger injury, but went just 9-for-25 from the field and knocked down 3 of 10 threes so we can assume it was bothering him.
Domantas Sabonis and Malik Monk each added 21 apiece to contribute, but it wasn’t enough. With 4 of the 5 games in this series decided by 8 or less points, Sacramento has a pretty solid chance to cover the spread, but I’m not as convinced they can upset all the odds and push this game to a Game 7.
History tells us the Warriors are winning here. They’ve won 8 straight home games vs the Kings, and 11 of the last 14 overall. I’m still expecting a close game though, these type of contests go down the wire more often than not so I think the smarter bet here is to back the Kings to cover.

Despite their best player struggling with shooting the ball, the Kings were still able to put up 116 points on Wednesday in another high scoring contest. The over has cashed 3 times in this series so far and we’re seeing a projected total of 234.5 points for Game 5 which is in line with previous games. Sacramento has gone over in 7 of 10 games vs Pacific Division opponents, while the Warriors have done so in 10 of their last 15 played in April.
These teams are averaging over 230 points per game in the last 10 meetings, making this one of the highest scoring duels in the entire NBA over the past couple of seasons. With their season on the line I expect the Kings to come out firing here, they won’t go away lightly. Golden State has weapons to respond with though, so expect a game in the high 230s once again here. Back the points.
