Golden State Warriors vs New York Knicks betting tips and predictions for Friday’s NBA game on ESPN. After back-to-back wins on the road, the Knicks carry the momentum to Chase Center in hopes of beating the defending champions Warriors. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
Golden State Warriors
It seems like no matter what Stephen Curry does out there, it’s still not enough for the Warriors who dropped their 8th game in a row on the road. The Suns beat them by 12 points despite Curry scoring 50 points, including 7 threes made. The defense was just non-existent as Phoenix shot 51% from the field and 52% from downtown.
That’s been the story of the season so far. This team just isn’t capable of winning on the road for some reason, at home they are 6-1 and have one of the best marks in the league. However, even that record could be in jeopardy tonight as they face a Knicks side against whom they’ve covered just once in the last 6 games. Jonathan Kuminga could also be out as he recovers from an illness.
New York Knicks
The Knicks got a somewhat unexpected win at Denver in their last game, despite being 3-point underdogs. Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson carried the offense with 34 and 21 points respectively, while Derrick Rose chipped in 13 off the bench. The defense was also impressive holding the Nuggets to under 44% shooting. The Knicks are now 4-4 in 8 road games and have an impressive 10-2 ATS record over their last 12 games vs Western Conference opponents. Winning against the Warriors has been a mystery though, that has only happened 3 times in the last 15 head-to-head, so everyone will have to be on their A-game tonight if the Knicks want to get the win here. Aside from Mitchell Robinson, this team has a clean health bill, which is always good when you are playing on the road.
Despite all the struggles, the Warriors are still elite in their own house. New York’s defense isn’t really confidence inspiring, despite a solid performance in Denver the other day. Warriors are 8-1 SU and 6-3 ATS in their last 9 home games. Take the home team to cover here.
Golden State Warriors vs New York Knicks Predictions & Odds
I must say I am a bit surprised by the projected total being set at 234.5 points here, since the two teams have averaged only 225.3 points per game in their last 10 meetings. Sure, neither team has impressed on defense this season, but New York has gone under the total in 5 straight on the road. Same goes for the Warriors who are 4-2 in favor of the under in their last 6 games, aside from Stephen Curry nobody else has excelled scoring the ball this season.
Klay Thompson is shooting in the mid-30s from the field, without him being a Splash bro to Curry the Warriors will find it hard to outscore teams. New York ranks only 18th in offensive efficiency, we’ve seen them score just 106 points on the road against Denver the other night. With the total going under in 2 of the 3 most recent meetings between the two teams, I think backing the under is the smart move in this one.
