Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans betting tips and predictions for Tuesday’s NBA game on NBA TV. With a 2-1 lead in the regular season series, the Pelicans are hoping to clinch it with another win tonight as they head to Chase Center to face the Warriors. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
Golden State Warriors
Golden State wasted a golden opportunity in their last game to pull ahead of the Clippers for the 5th seed in the standings, but instead they lost to Minnesota which now puts the Timberwolves ahead of them in 6th, while they’re 7th. It was an unusually low scoring game, the Warriors had the lead late, but Minnesota came back with 2 late threes to turn things around.
Now the situation is even more complicated, they have to beat a Pelicans squad that’s on a 5-game win streak and has already beaten them twice this season. Granted, both of those wins were in New Orleans with the Warriors winning the only home game in this series. Playing at Chase Center will be the main confidence booster for Golden State here, they’re 18-2 SU in their last 20 meetings with the Pels there.
New Orleans Pelicans
Winning their last 5 games has now elevated the Pels to the 8th seed which would guarantee a play-in tournament spot. They’re a game ahead of OKC and the Lakers with just 7 left to play so it promises to be an exciting finish to the season. There’s still no sign of Zion Williamson, so Brandon Ingram has taken it upon himself to lead the charge as the Pels hope to make the postseason for the 2nd year in a row.
There hasn’t been much luck in games against the Warriors lately, New Orleans is just 6-12 SU in the last 18 played and 2-5 ATS in the last 7 games. The good news for bettors is the fact that they’re 9 point underdogs here, which sounds like a lot to cover for a team that just lost at home to the Timberwolves.
Although they’re one of the most consistent teams in home games, I’m not ready to trust the Warriors just yet after they threw that game away against Minnesota. The Pels can lose by 8 points and our bet still wins here, I’ll fancy my chances with them.
Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans Predictions & Odds
After 3 consecutive games of 120+ points scored, the Warriors were brought back to Earth a bit as they scored just 96 in the loss to Minnesota. Neither Stephen Curry or Klay Thompson had a game to remember as they combined to shoot just 13-for-40 from the field. New Orleans has really excelled at the defensive end lately, holding their last 4 opponents to an average of just 99.2 points per game.
None of the 3 meetings so far between the two teams got even close to the projected total of 234.5 points that we have here, so I really think we won’t see a ton of points scored here. We had at least one of the teams fail to crack the 100 point mark in the last 2 meetings, while over the last 10 the O/U record is sitting at 2-8. An average of only 217.5 points per game has been scored during that stretch, so all the numbers are pointing to a low scoring affair. I’ll back the under in this one.
