Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets, Predictions & Odds

Denver Nuggets vs Golden State Warriors betting tips and predictions for Tuesday’s NBA TV game. Golden State looks to win their 4th game in a row as they host the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Denver Nuggets

After 2 losses in a row and 3 in their last 4 games, the Nuggets needed a win badly and the MVP stepped up and delivered. Nikola Jokic had 26 points, 22 boards and 8 assists and Denver beat the Clippers on the road 103-100. With the win they are back at .500 and currently occupy 6th place in the highly competitive Western Conference. Unlike many other teams, the Nuggets don’t have issues with health and safety protocols right now, but they got several players out with various other injuries. Aaron Gordon is one of those players who could return following a hamstring issue, he is listed as questionable here. Denver hasn’t had much luck covering the spread lately, they are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games and against the Warriors they’ve covered just once in their last 8 head-to-head and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 visits to the bay.

Golden State Warriors

Prior to this game the Warriors received some bad news as Draymond Green has entered the health and safety protocols, however they could get Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Pool back who have been out for a while. As long as Steph Curry is playing on the level he is on right now, the Warriors should be fine. Curry had 33 points and 6 assists in the Christmas Day win over Phoenix. He is averaging 27.9 points per game and 40% shooting from three making a case for his 3rd regular season MVP award. The Warriors are 15-1 SU in their last 16 home games and have won 6 of 7 overall. They have the 5th best offense numbers in the NBA and their defense ranks 1st in points allowed per game. All this without the likes of Klay Thompson and James Wiseman who are expected back some time in January.

Not having Draymond Green will be a blow for the Warriors in this one. He’s the one usually guarding Jokic in head-to-head meetings, the MVP could have a big night with that no longer being the case. The Nuggets haven’t had much luck in recent meetings, but I think that changes tonight. Give me Denver to cover here.

Nuggets +6 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

As I mentioned earlier, without Green the Warriors defense could suffer here. In the game against Phoenix the total went over the line by 7.5 points, I wouldn’t be surprised if something similar happened tonight. The Nuggets tend to play a fast tempo style, their last 13 of 17 games have all gone over the total, including their last 10 of 13 on the road and 8 of 10 against Western Conference teams. In the last 10 meetings these two teams are averaging 225.6 points per game between them and in the 3 most recent meetings the number has slightly gone down to 218.6 per game. That’s still over tonight’s total which has been set at 215.5 points here. Both Curry and Jokic are scoring at a healthy pace lately, plus the Warriors are probably getting Poole and Wiggins back which should provide a much needed scoring boost. With Green out of the picture, Golden State might try and speed things up to compensate for his absence. I’m going with the over in this one.
