The Warriors are happy to be back home following back to back defeats on the road in Minnesota and Denver. They’ll be looking to avenge a 3-point defeat suffered against Dallas earlier this season at the end of November. Luka Doncic torched them for 41 points in that game, but it appears that the Mavs will be without him tonight, which is one of the reasons why the Warriors are 9-point favorites here. Golden State also has a couple of their star players listed on the injury report, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are all questionable. The Warriors have covered just once in 6 home games, so it could be a tricky game even if the Mavs are without their best player.
Dallas Mavericks
Having Doncic or not having him is a big deal for these Mavs, they are 0-6 in games he’s missed this season. He got hurt midway through the Pelicans game, but the Mavs had a comfortable lead which they were able to hold on to. With the news of Kyrie Irving requesting a trade, the Mavs have emerged as one of the candidates to trade for him, so it’ll be interesting to see if they rest some of the players they intend on trading for him. Christian Wood, Davis Bertans and Maxi Kleber are all out for this one, while Spencer Dinwiddie remains questionable. Dinwiddie has carried the offense in games in which Luka hasn’t played, so if he’s also out the Mavs will have a tough time scoring here. Dallas has covered the spread just twice in 10 road games.
With both teams in limbo because of injuries and other circumstances, this game could be very unpredictable. Luka means so much to this Dallas team, there is no way they are winning without him. And with all the other injuries I listed, I’m not sure they’ll be able to keep this game close. Go with the Warriors to cover.

Golden State has the 4th best defensive rating at Chase Center, the total has gone under in 4 of their last 5 games played on a Saturday. For the season they are 10-14-1 on the O/U at home. Combine that with the Mavs going under in 6 of 7 games overall, I think we have a low scoring game here. The 10 previous meetings head-to-head have produced just an average of 218.4 points.
