Toronto Raptors

Toronto RaptorsWith a 108-89 win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday, the Toronto Raptors were finally able to end a 3-game losing streak. Their points pre game leader for the season OG Anunoby didn’t play in that game, but they managed without him as Pascal Siakam stepped up with 32 points on 10-for-12 from the field. Gary Trent Jr. also had a big game with 23 points, including 5 threes made. Anunoby will be out indefinitely as he recovers from his hip injury, joining him on the sidelines could be Yuta Watanabe who is questionable for tonight’s game with a calf injury. The Raptors could use both of those guys as they’ve covered the spread just twice in their last 8 games. However, they do have a surprisingly good record against the Warriors recently, they’ve beaten the Dubs 8 times in the last 11 games.

Golden State Warriors

Golden State WarriorsStephen Curry, Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green both took the night off, but it didn’t matter for the Warriors as they beat the Detroit Pistons 105-102. Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins seized the opportunity and dropped 32 and 27 points to lead the team in scoring. Both Steph and Draymond are likely to play tonight as their injuries were only minor. Iguodala will not play as his knee injury is a bit more serious than initially thought. Still, the Warriors enter tonight’s game as big favorites and for good reason. They are 8-1 at home and have covered the spread in 6 of their last 7 games. I’m interested to see how well they do at home against the Raptors as their recent record isn’t all that good – they’ve won only once in the last 6 home games vs Toronto.

Steph and co. took the night off against the Pistons and it worked. The team was able to win without them and they got their much needed rest and recovery. Toronto is coming off an impressive win, but it was the Sacramento Kings they beat which isn’t all that challenging. They’ve dropped 3 of their last 4 games, including one of those against the Pistons who the Warriors beat without their 2 best players. I’m taking Steph and the rest of these guys to cover here.

Golden State Warriors – Toronto Raptors Predictions

Golden State -7.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

Golden State has not impressed on the offensive end in their last 10 games against the Raptors. They are averaging just 102.4 points and shooting the ball at 43% in those games, while the Raptors are at 113.8 and 46% shooting. I have a feeling that will change tonight, this Warriors team is top of the NBA in points per game this season scoring 113.9 per contest. That goes up to 116.4 per game at Chase Center, with a healthy and fresh Curry I think they will have very little issues reaching that number against the Raptors. Toronto’s defense is 11th in the NBA in points allowed per game, however in their last 3 games they are allowing 108.7 points which is the 9th worst mark in the NBA. That has resulted in the over landing in 4 of their last 5 games. If your defense is struggling and you have a game against the Warriors in their own gym, you are in trouble. Give me the over in this one.
