Just when we thought the Kings were turning things around they managed to find a way to disappoint us yet again. After leading by 14 points at half-time against the OKC Thunder, they could not hold on and lost 105-103. Harrison Barnes had 21 points, Richaun Holmes added 16 and 15 rebounds, the defense was doing well holding the Thunder to just 35.8% shooting and yet they couldn’t hold on. The loss was their 4th in a row and they are now 5-8 on the season and outside of the play-in tournament spots. Despite a solid defensive performance in that game, they still rank in the bottom five in defensive efficiency, so that is definitely something they will have to work on if they want to contend for one of the remaining playoff spots in the West.
Detroit Pistons
The Pistons have actually pleasantly surprised us in their last game by beating the Toronto Raptors in a high scoring game 127-121. It was without of doubt their best offensive showing so far this season as all five starters scored in double figures, including two more bench players. Jerami Grant had 24 on the night, Isaiah Stewart added 20, while rookie sensation Cade Cunningham scored 10 on just 10 attempts from the field. This was Detroit’s 2nd win in 3 games, something they’ve not done all season long up to this point. But, things could get difficult tonight against the Kings as they’ve won just once in their last 9 home games.
Detroit might have the momentum here with their solid run recently, but I’m not yet ready to count out the Sacramento Kings. They are 3-4 on the road this season and they do have the two best players in tonight’s game in my opinion. Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and back them to cover.

They go up against the 26th ranked defense in the NBA, so I think we could be in for yet another solid scoring game by these young Pistons.
