Detroit Pistons – Miami Heat Predictions & Odds

Miami Heat vs Detroit Pistons betting tips and predictions for Tuesday’s NBA game. Miami looks to get back on the winning track as they travel to Little Ceasars Arena to take on the 4-12 Detroit Pistons. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Miami Heat

Miami HeatThe Heat had a 4-game win streak snapped by the Washington Wizards over the weekend, but more importantly they can’t seem to shake off lingering injuries to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Their leading duo had 29 and 15 points in the loss to the Wizards, but both of them are questionable tonight and I wouldn’t be shocked if the Heat took the Warriors route here and rested them for this one. If that is the case, others like Kyle Lowry and Tyler Herro will have to step up big time, so it’ll be interesting to see how the team responds. Miami has had a good run when it comes to covering the spread, they are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games. They’ve beaten the Pistons in 4 of the last 5 meetings as well.

Detroit Pistons

Detroit PistonsThese Pistons will also be shorthanded for tonight’s game. The NBA announced that Isaiah Stewart will be suspended for two games without pay following his altercation with LeBron James in the Pistons 121-116 loss to the Lakers on Sunday. They could really use his services in this one, they’ve dropped 3 of their last 4 games and things aren’t looking good at the moment as Detroit occupies just the 14th spot in the Eastern Conference. There were some positives to take away from that loss, namely rookie Cade Cunningham had probably his best game of his young career so far as he notched a triple-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. However, his shooting still needs work as he finished the game just 6-for-21 from the field. Jerami Grant had a solid night with 36 points, but the Pistons couldn’t do much on the defensive end in the 4th quarter as the Lakers outscored them by 20 points.

With our without Adebayo and Butler, the Heat are clear favorites in this one. Lowry currently averages 12.8 points and 7.6 assists per game, so I’m not too worried if he has to become the leader in their absence. The Heat have been in this situation already this season, they should still have enough to beat a severely limited Pistons squad. Give me Miami to cover.

Heat -9.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

The Pistons offense has slowly come to life over their past 5 games. They’ve gone over 100 points in 4 of those 5 games, including a 127 point night against the Raptors and 116 against the Lakers this past weekend. Sure, scoring against Miami and scoring against the Lakers is not the same, but the Pistons have actually done well scoring wise against the Heat in their most recent match-ups. In the last 10 meetings the point differential between the two teams is just 2.4 per game and they are combining for 213.4 per game with the total going over in 7 of those 10 games. If we just look at Detroit home games, the trends are basically the same with 4 of the last 5 Miami visits finishing over the total. Miami’s last 7 of 9 games overall have all gone over the total and they are 6-4 on the O/U in their 10 away games this season. If Butler and Bam do not play, their defense will suffer, so in the end I expect the two teams to score enough and push us over the total here.
