Detroit Lions Stats & Form

Detroit LionsThe Detroit Lions are hoping to finally get to their first win of the season after a 0-9-1 record in the first 11 weeks. The Lions were pretty close in the last two games as they played a 16-16 draw against the Pittsburgh Steelers and lost the last one 13-10 to the Cleveland Browns. It was the third time in the season for the Lions to lose by three or fewer points.

Detroit was down 13-0 at halftime and even though managed to get closer, a couple of cheap mistakes took them to their 14th consecutive loss. The Lions played without starting quarterback Jared Goff, who injured his oblique against the Steelers but he is the probable starter for the Bears game. Tim Boyle took his place for the game in Cleveland finishing 15 of 23 for 77 yards with two interceptions in his first NFL start.

Both quarterbacks didn’t come up with a single touchdown in the last two games and have combined for only 191 passing yards.

Detroit Lions News

Starting offensive guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai went out with a concussion in the game against the Browns and he is questionable for Thursday’s game. Da’Shawn Hand also left the game with a groin injury but is expected to play against the Bears.

Chicago Bears Stats & Form

Chicago BearsThe Chicago Bears started the season quite well winning three of the first five games but has lost the next five and currently are third in NFC North with a 3-7 record. Coach Matt Nagy couldn’t ask for a better opponent to snap the five-game losing streak than the winless Lions.

But that task might not be as easy as it seems, since starting quarterback Justin Fields has left last weeks’ game with a rib injury and will not play at the Thanksgiving game. The Bears will have to count on Andy Dalton who threw two touchdowns, including a 49-yarder to an open Marquise Goodwin in the closing minutes of the 16-13 loss at home to the Baltimore Ravens last week.

This was the eighth consecutive season as the Bears lose the first game coming off a bye week.

Chicago Bears News

Allen Robinson will miss his third straight for the Bears which will be a huge problem for coach Nagy. Darnell Mooney will have to step up in Robinson’s place once again after he managed 5 catches, 121 yards, and a TD against the Ravens last week.

The total margin is set pretty low for this one as the bears have gone under in seven of their last eight games and the Lions have done the same in their last two.
