Nobody can stop the Nuggets at the moment. They are 5-1 SU in their last 6 overall, at home they’ve won 10 in a row and look like the team to beat in the Western Conference. They’re doing well on the injury with only Jeff Green missing, if things stay this way in the postseason the Nuggets could go far.
Nikola Jokic had 41 points in the 1st game of the season vs Phoenix, with Deandre Ayton most likely not suiting up here, he could be in line for another dominant performance. That only further adds to his MVP case, he’s averaging a triple-double over his last 10 games. It’s not only him though, he’s getting a ton of help from Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon, the Nuggets finally look like a team after all those years of falling short. They’ve won 6 of 8 games vs Western Conference teams.
Phoenix Suns
Just when everyone thought the Suns were done, they came back from the dead with an impressive 125-113 win at Golden State last night. The defending champions got Stephen Curry back from injury, he had 24 on the night but was no match for the likes of Miles Bridges, Damion Lee and Duane Washington as all 3 of those players went over 20 points. The question is can they sustain that level of play on a 2nd night of a back-to-back against one of the elite teams in the NBA? Even at full strength, the Suns fell short in the 1st meeting of the season 128-125 in overtime, so tonight’s game will be anything but easy. They are once again heavy underdogs, with the spread being set at 12.5 points here.
It’s hard to look past the Nuggets here, however after watching the Suns upset the Warriors last night I have a feeling they could be with a chance tonight as well. They are heavy underdogs, but after losing the 1st meeting by only 3 points, they can lose by 10 here and still cover the spread. Give me the road team to cover.
