Denver Nuggets vs Philadelphia 76ers betting tips and predictions for Monday’s NBA game on NBA TV. Losers of 3 games in 4 outings the Sixers, look to turn things around as they take on Nikola Jokic and his Nuggets who are on a 3-game win streak. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
For all of those MVP voters out there, this game has significant importance in the race between Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid. Taking down the Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo certainly helps Jokic get back into the thick of things, doing so tonight against Embiid would almost solidify him as being the front runner once again.
Philadelphia dominated the first meeting 126-119 at home back in late January, but the Nuggets have been on a solid roll winning their last 3 games and as a result they are 4.5 point favorites here. This team is a dominant 17-3 SU in the last 20 games at Ball Arena, however covering the spread against Philly has been challenging in this building with the Nuggets doing so just twice in the last 13 games played.
The big question for Philadelphia coming into this game is the health of James Harden, but also the big fella Embiid as both of them are listed on the injury report. Harden has missed the last couple of games with an Achilles injury, while Embiid is bothered by a minor calf strain. The results have reflected Harden’s absence, Philly is just 1-3 SU over their last 4 games and if the Beard isn’t ready tonight their chances of winning take a significant hit.
All eyes will be on Embiid as he once again tries to make his case to win the MVP award. He put up 47 points in the first meeting, abusing Jokic down low whenever he got the ball. Will that happen on the road as well, remains to be seen, but the 76ers do fall out of the race for the 2nd seed with a loss here.
The injuries have started at the worst time for Philly here, Denver doesn’t have such issues at the moment which is why I really like their chances here. Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 played, let’s back them to get the job done at home.
Denver Nuggets vs Philadelphia 76ers Predictions & Odds
At 228.5 points the projected total isn’t all that high, especially if we compare it to the last meeting in Philadelphia where 245 points were scored. The Sixers are missing Harden, but their last 2 games still saw 230 and 232 points which is also good news for our bet here. The Nuggets defense has been stellar over their last 3 games, that’s resulted in the under cashing 5 times in a row now.
I think both teams will turn up on that end of the court tonight, especially the road team as they simply don’t have the personnel right now to run with the Nuggets. The under has cashed in 4 of 6 for Philadelphia and in 10 of their last 15 played in March. Just 215.4 points per game have been averaged in the last 10 meetings between these two teams and the over has cashed only 3 times. I’m putting my money on the under here.
