Denver Nuggets vs Memphis Grizzlies | Tip & Odds (7.4.2022)

Denver Nuggets vs Memphis Grizzlies betting tips and predictions for Thursday’s NBA game. Memphis looks to sweep the season series against the Denver Nuggets as the two teams clash for the 4th and final time this season. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Denver Nuggets

Denver NuggetsNikola Jokic’s MVP case would improve dramatically if he got his team to the number 5 seed in the West. Winning tonight against a Memphis side that’s 8.5 games ahead in the standings would help enormously, but it sounds a lot easier than it really is. The Nuggets are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and at home, they’ve covered just once in 9 games.

The good news is they are 6-1 SU in their last 7 home games against the Grizzlies, however, Memphis did win the earlier meeting at Ball Arena 122-118. Nuggets fans are keeping a close eye on Jamal Murray and Kevin Porter Jr., if they can get those 2 players back in time for the postseason, they could make a lot of noise in this year’s playoffs.

Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis GrizzliesSpeaking of making noise, the Grizzlies have already done a lot of that this season. Not a lot of people expected them to be in 2nd place this late in the season, especially not with their best player missing over 20 games. Ja Morant won’t be available for this game as well, his knee injury remains a mystery as there hasn’t been a significant update from the medical staff in a while.

Dillon Brooks is also questionable with a hip problem, so the Grizzlies could be significantly shorthanded here. That hasn’t bothered them this season though, they are 20-3 in games in which Morant hasn’t played, so it’s next man up mentality regardless of who is out.

They’ve won 7 of their last 8 games and against the Nuggets they’ve covered in 6 of the last 7 meetings overall. One thing that is worth pointing out though, Memphis has already clinched the number 2 seed and has no chance of moving anywhere in the standings. So I’d advise before making any bets on this game to wait for the injury report to come out, in case they decide to rest a few key players.

Purely because of the significance of this game, I’m leaning towards the Nuggets here. They have an MVP candidate on their roster, Jokic has been dominating over the past month or so. The Grizzlies are well equipped to counter him, but I say the big fella gets Denver the big home win here. Back the Nuggets to cover.

Denver Nuggets vs Memphis Grizzlies Predictions & Odds

Games played in Denver between these teams are often high scoring, 2 of the last 3 have both gone over tonight’s projected total of 232.5 points. The Nuggets have trended towards the over quite a lot lately with 8 of their last 11 games cashing on that bet. The same goes for Memphis who has gone over the total in 5 of 6 vs Northwest Division teams. For the season they are 21-17-2 on the O/U in road games, while the Nuggets are a whopping 24-15 in home games.

With not much left to play for this season, the Grizzlies could opt to rest a few guys here which would mean a higher tempo approach just so they can stay in the game against the Nuggets. Memphis already ranks 3rd in the NBA in terms of pace averaging 103 possessions per game.

They also own the 7th best offensive efficiency, while the Nuggets are in 6th. With Denver scoring over 120 in 3 of their last 4 and Memphis doing so in 3 of their last 5, both teams are capable of lighting it up and I think that’s good enough reason to back the points here. Let’s go with the over.
