Dallas Mavericks

Dallas MavericksFresh off a 109-104 win against the Lakers, the momentum is definitely on the Mavericks side entering tonight’s game as they’ve won 4 of their last 5 games and 8 of their last 10 overall. Since the Kristaps Porzingis trade, Luka Doncic has emerged as a top 5 player in the NBA in my opinion and he’s carrying the Mavericks to heights they haven’t seen since the last time Dirk Nowitzki played for them.

They are likely to finish in the 5th spot in the loaded Western Conference, although the way Luka is playing right now I wouldn’t be shocked if they caught up to the Jazz who are in 4th. Doncic is averaging 33.2 points per game over his last 10, if it wasn’t for the slower start to the season and chemistry issues with Porzingis we would probably be talking about him as a potential MVP candidate right now. Mavs have covered the spread in 5 of 6 vs Western Conference teams.

Golden State Warriors

Golden State WarriorsStephen Curry and the Warriors are struggling right now, there’s no question about that. After the Chris Paul injury many people thought this team would switch into another gear and go for the number 1 seed, instead they’ve now slipped to 7 games back from the Suns and are in danger of falling down to 3rd with the surging Memphis Grizzlies being right behind them.

Tonight they get Klay Thompson back, he should be a major help against a team that’s beaten them in 8 of the last 10 meetings. The Warriors have covered the spread just 3 times in their last 13 games vs the Mavericks.

Playing teams from their own conference has also been an issue, they are just 1-6 ATS in the last 7 such games. With the likes of Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala still missing games, we all know that this team will look vastly different come playoff time.

I am really liking the Mavericks in this match-up, even though it’s never easy to discount Stephen Curry. Dallas is 20-11 SU at home this season, they’ve covered the spread in 9 of their last 10 games. They enter tonight’s game as underdogs, which is good news for us. Back the home team and the extra points.

Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors Predictions & Odds

Dallas has outscored the Warriors by almost 12 points over the past 10 meetings. The 2 teams have averaged a combined 232.2 points per game during that stretch and the over has cashed in 6 games. If we expand that to the last 15 head-to-head the over has landed 11 times and in the last 8 games at American Airlines Center the over has cashed 7 times between these two.

Golden State has gone over in 6 of their last 7 games, mostly because Draymond Green is still not back and they have major issues at the back with teams scoring at will against them. On the road 6 of their last 9 games have seen the over cash, these trends are all hard to ignore so I think we could be in for another high scoring output despite the Mavericks playing at only the 27th fastest tempo in the NBA this season.

Golden State ranks 10th in that category, but with Klay back I can definitely see an increase in their production here. Let’s back the points in tonight’s game.
