Cleveland Cavaliers – Phoenix Suns Predictions & Odds

Phoenix Suns vs Cleveland Cavaliers betting tips and predictions for Wednesday’s NBA game. Two teams headed in different directions meet up in Cleveland as the Cavaliers host the Phoenix Suns. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Phoenix Suns

Phoenix SunsFollowing their 115-111 win at San Antonio, the win streak for the Phoenix Suns now stands at 13 games in a row, unmatched by any team in the NBA this season. It was Devin Booker once again who led them in scoring with 23 points, while Deandre Ayton added 21 and 14 rebounds. Chris Paul had a modest game by his standards with just 12 points and 4 assists, but regardless the team did well despite him not being very productive. Newly returned Cameron Payne also added 20 points off the bench and this team looks like the team to beat in the NBA right now. Despite all the winning though, bettors haven’t been all that happy with them as they’ve covered the spread just once in their last 5 games. Tonight’s game at Cleveland will be a challenge as the Suns are just 1-5 in their last 6 visits.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland CavaliersIf the Suns are the team to beat, the Cleveland Cavaliers are the opposite of that in the NBA right now. They’ve lost 4 games in a row and their latest defeat came at home against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. Despite missing several key players through injury, they actually put up a decent effort against a much better team, but in the end they just couldn’t match the firepower of KD and Harden. Collin Sexton, Evan Mobley, Darius Garland and Cedi Osman could all miss tonight’s game against the Suns. Even though they’ve been losing games lately, the Cavs have done really well against the spread this season by covering in their last 12 of 16 games. They do struggle a bit against teams from the Western Conference as they’ve won just 3 of their last 13 against such teams.

This is a tough spot for the Cavs, even though they are playing at home, the injury bug has ruined all the good things they’ve done earlier this season. Phoenix has already beaten them once this season, it finished 101-92 back in late October. I’m going with the Suns yet again to sweep the season series. Give me Phoenix to cover.

Suns -6.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

Even though the first meeting of the season returned just 193 points, the majority of games between these two teams have been high scoring lately. To be exact 6 of the last 10 have gone over the total, including 2 of the last 3 meetings. The two teams are scoring 223.7 points per game in those 10 games and shooting around 48% from the field. Pace-wise the Suns rank 4th in the NBA with 101.5 possessions on average per contest. Since losing Sexton and Mobley, the Cavs have tried pushing the tempo a bit more in an effort to compensate, as we saw in the loss against Brooklyn where they scored 112 points. I think they’ll try to play a smaller line-up here once again, so that should also contribute to a higher scoring outcome. Only 6 teams in the NBA have a better offensive rating than the Suns do right now, I can definitely see them putting up at least 110 in this one. Let’s back the over.
