Chicago Bulls

Chicago BullsChicago is on a roll right now having won 4 games in a row, but they will be without their leading scorer DeMar DeRozan here, he has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols and will be out for an extended period of time. That’s a shame as the Bulls will really miss his 26.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. He joins Javonte Green and Alex Caruso who are also sidelined, the Bulls rotation is getting thinner and thinner by the day. Against their opponents tonight they’ve been relatively successful lately winning 4 of the last 6 meetings and covering 13 times in the last 20 head-to-head. I am looking at Zach LaVine in particular here to have a great game, he is coming off a 32-point burst against the Denver Nuggets in the 12-point win a couple of days ago.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland CavaliersCleveland is also shorthanded coming into this one, but they have been for a while now and it hasn’t significantly bothered them. At least not when it comes to covering the spread, they are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs Eastern Conference opponents. However, their home form is a worry as they’ve dropped 5 of their last 6 games there. They’ll once again be without Collin Sexton here who is out for the season with a knee injury. Jarrett Allen is expected to have yet another big game following his 25 point night against the Bucks. Darius Garland had only 10 points in that game, if the Cavs want anything out of tonight’s game he will have to score at least 20 in this one.

Honestly I’m surprised the Cavaliers are favorites going into this game, even though the Bulls are without DeRozan I think they are still the more talented team. On the road this season the Bulls are an impressive 9-4 in 13 games. Vucevic and Allen will cancel each other out on the inside, I don’t see how Cleveland will be able to stop LaVine. Give me Chicago and the extra points.

Bulls +2.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

Even though the over has cashed in 7 of the last 8 meetings played in Cleveland, I have a feeling we could be in for a lower scoring game here. Both the Cavs and Bulls are missing a 20 point per game scorer, that is a lot to compensate regardless of how good you are as a team. Chicago’s games vs Central Division opponents have gone under the total quite often lately with 10 of the last 12 cashing on that bet. For some odd reason Cleveland likes to play under the total on Wednesdays, 4 of their last 6 games played on that day finished under. It’s also worth noting that the two teams have gone 1-2 on the O/U in their 3 most recent meetings and have averaged just 208.2 points per game during that stretch. If they were to reach that number tonight that would put us under the total offered by the oddsmakers. Let’s go under in this one.
