Denver Nuggets

Denver NuggetsBoy are the Denver Nuggets happy to see Nikola Jokic back in their line-up. The big man MVP played only his 3rd game since returning from injury and the Nuggets are 2-1 during that stretch. They are coming off a big 113-99 win at Madison Square Garden where Jokic scored 32 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in just 27 minutes of play, sitting out the entire 4th quarter as the game was already decided in the Nuggets favor. It gets tricky tonight though, the Bulls have already beaten the Nuggets this season 114-108 at Ball Arena, Denver had to rely on Aaron Gordon and Will Barton who had 28 and 23 points in that game as Jokic was unavailable. Speaking of unavailable, the Nuggets will once again be without Austin Rivers who is out with covid-19, joining a long list of injured players already.

Chicago Bulls

Chicago BullsChicago also has minor issues with injuries at the moment. Alex Caruso has been ruled as doubtful for this one with a hamstring issue, Coby White is in quarantine along with Javonte Green, so there could be issues on the defensive end as Caruso is a big part of that. Bulls are on a solid run with 4 wins in 5 games, they’ve also covered 4 times in those 5 games and their only loss came against Miami at home. Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan both had huge nights in the win over Brooklyn over the weekend with 31 and 29 points. Home form has been great for the Bulls this season, they’ve gone 9-4 ATS in their last 13 at the United Center, however against Western Conference teams they are just 6-13 SU in their last 19 games.

Nikola Vucevic is no match for Nikola Jokic, but the Nuggets will have a handful dealing with LaVine and DeRozan here. I was impressed with how their defense worked against the Knicks, if they are able to repeat that performance they’ll be in a good position here. I’m taking the Nuggets to cover.

Denver +4.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

A total of 222 points were scored in the first meeting of the season, which is 8 points more than tonight’s line offered by the bookmakers. These two teams have gone over the total 9 times in the last 10 meetings and the scoring has been going steady during that stretch and the two teams are averaging 229.7 points per game. In their last 3 the over has cashed 3 times and the average is at 236.6 points per game. Chicago’s games have also been productive when it comes to points, they’ve gone over 4 times in their last 6, while that has been the case for the Nuggets in their last 7 in a row and their last 6 straight on the road. The Bulls backcourt has been scoring really well lately, so I think with the return of Jokic both teams are neck and neck here. Let’s back the over.
