The Nets won their last game against Detroit 130-123 in typical Nets fashion as they outscored their opponent without caring too much about defence. They failed to cover as 14-point favourites, but I’m sure their fans aren’t too worried about that fact too much at this point of the season.
Tonight’s game will be a big one for Brooklyn as they have to win to maintain their grab on the 8th seed in the East and put further pressure on Cleveland in the 7th seed. They beat the Bucks in the last meeting that took place in Milwaukee, but the Bucks still lead the season series 2-1. They played without Kevin Durant in that game, it was Kyrie Irving who carried them with 38 points and tonight will be only his 3rd home game of the season.

Milwaukee is also coming off a statement win at Philadelphia a couple of nights ago as they came out on top 118-116 behind a 40-point night from MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek freak is listed as day-to-day here with a minor knee issue, but he should be ready to play. The Bucks enter the game as 1.5 point underdogs which is a rarity this season, in that role they’ve gone 4-10 SU so that’s something to keep in mind.
However, they’ve been in really good form lately so that stat might not even matter. Over their last 12 games, they’ve covered the spread 9 times and in their last 14, they have 11 wins. Against the Nets, in the last 14 meetings on the road, they have 10 wins at Barclays Arena, so that’s encouraging for their fans. A win tonight for the Bucks would put them just a half-game back from Miami for the number 1 seed in the East.
This game has the potential to be one of the best regular-season games of the season, with so much at stake. Ultimately, I’m leaning towards Brooklyn here as they have home-court advantage after all.
