The Nets are playing their best stretch of basketball this entire season. There are no injuries to report, the trio of Durant, Irving and Simmons is producing on a nightly basis and they are winning close games as well. That all makes them double-digit favorites tonight against the defending champions, as favorites Brooklyn has 15 wins in 21 games this season. Western Conference teams haven’t been able to deal with the recent resurgence, the Nets have covered the spread 5 times in the last 7 such games. I would also keep an eye on Kevin Durant tonight, he’s scored just 22, 20 and 19 points against his former team in the last 3 meetings since joining the Nets. Patty Mills could also return to the line-up following a minor illness.
Golden State Warriors
Golden State comes into tonight’s game after getting destroyed by the New York Knicks on the road by 38 points. Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins both sat that game, with tonight’s game being a 2nd night of a back-to-back the Warriors could also opt to rest Klay Thompson. Jordan Poole is the only viable scoring option they have right now, don’t be surprised if he goes over 30 points tonight, but I’m not sure if that will be enough to keep the Warriors competitive here. This team has just 3 wins in 18 games on the road this season. In head-to-head meetings with Brooklyn they’ve won 10 of 13 games, but I’m not sure how much weight we can put into those numbers with the current injury situation.
Anything but a dominant Nets win here would be a major surprise, the Warriors have one of the worst road records in the entire NBA. I’ll be backing the Nets to continue their hot streak here.

After seeing the Knicks put up 132 points against the Warriors last night, we can only imagine what a team like the Nets will do to the defending champions. I think we can all agree that Brooklyn has more talent on offense than New York, over their last 5 games the Warriors have allowed 132, 110, 118, 125 and 128 points.
Only the San Antonio Spurs have a worse defensive rating on the road this season and just 2 teams have a worse Net Rating. This team likes to run, they average 102.4 possessions per game, I think that will be the plan in tonight’s game as they simply don’t have anything to lose if they run with the Nets. Brooklyn has the 4th best offensive rating in the league, they are averaging 111.4 points in the last 10 meetings with the Warriors. I think all the stats are pointing to a high scoring game here, so let’s back the over.
