Brooklyn Nets – Orlando Magic Predictions & Odds

Brooklyn Nets Orlando Magic

Orlando Magic vs Brooklyn Nets betting tips and predictions for Friday’s NBA game. After ending a 3-game losing streak against the Knicks, the Orlando Magic travel to Brooklyn to take on their cross-town rivals the Nets. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Orlando Magic

Orlando MagicThe win against the Knicks on Wednesday was a surprising one. Orlando rallied late and despite shooting just 40% from the field and 28% from three-point land as a team managed to overcome New York 104-98 at Madison Square Garden. All five starters scored in double figures led by Cole Anthony who had a modest 15 on just 5-for-21 from the field. Terrence Ross also stepped in off the bench with a solid performance, 3 of Orlando’s 4 wins this season have come on the road. Despite losing 4 of their last 5 against the Nets in head-to-head meetings, Orlando has done well when it comes to covering the spread. They are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 against Brooklyn, but it is worth noting that the Nets won the only meetings so far this season 123-90.

Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn NetsBrooklyn is back on track following their 18-point home loss against the Golden State Warriors. Just a night after the loss they were able to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 109-99. They had 4 players score 20+ points in James Harden, Kevin Durant, Patty Mills and LaMarcus Aldridge. Nets fans will be happy with that performance as they held the shorthanded Cavaliers to just 39% shooting from the field and 25% from downtown. Against the Magic tonight they will once again be a bit shorthanded with Joe Harris, Nick Claxton and Paul Millsap all sitting out due to various injuries. However, that shouldn’t be an issue as they are playing at home tonight where they’ve won 4 of their last 5 games.

After beating the Magic by 33 points on the road a week ago, there’s simply no excuse for the Nets not to cover the spread at home tonight. The oddsmakers favor them by 12.5 points here and although that might sound a lot, they’ve had two days to fully heal and rest before tonight’s game. I’m confident they’ll have enough to cover the spread here. Back the Nets.

Nets -12.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

The total for tonight’s game has been set at a surprisingly low 209 points. The first meeting between them produced 223 points and if we look at the last 10 games head-to-head the over has cashed 6 times. The two teams have averaged 218.8 points per game during that stretch with both shooting around 45%. The three meetings they played last season finished 121-113, 129-92 and 122-115. Brooklyn is one of the better defensive teams in the NBA this season, at home they allow 102.5 points per game while scoring 107.9 per game. If they manage to hold Orlando to their season average of 100 points, they only need 109 for the over to land, which is very doable when you have a team with two superstars surrounded by shooters. I’m taking the over in this one with confidence.
