New York Knicks vs Brooklyn Nets betting tips and predictions for Tuesday’s NBA on TNT game. It’s the battle of New York for the first time this season as the Knicks travel across town to take on the Brooklyn Nets. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

New York Knicks

New York KnicksTonight’s game is one of the most anticipated of the season so far for the Knicks who have been in a bit of a slump as of late and they enter this one as 6 point underdogs. In 6 games played this season in the underdog role they’ve gone 3-3 and in their last 15 games they’ve covered the spread just 5 times. They do come into this one after an important road win at Atlanta 99-90 over the weekend. Alec Burks led them with 23 points, Evan Fournier added 20, while their biggest star Julius Randle had only 8 on the night. Derrick Rose continues to be out with a ankle problem, it is unclear when he is coming back. They could definitely use him as Kemba Walker has been really struggling at the point guard position and has been put outside the rotation by coach Tom Thibodeau.

Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn NetsBrooklyn enters tonight’s game after winning 12 of their last 15, however they will be disappointed with their performance over the weekend against the Suns as they lost by 6 points at home. A 39-point night from Kevin Durant didn’t help them, James Harden had a triple double with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 14 dimes, but it wasn’t enough. Brooklyn has had it’s issues when it comes to covering the spread, they’ve done so just one in their last 6 games and at home this season they are just 3-6-1. They’ve also struggled with that in head-to-head meetings with New York, surprisingly covering just once in the last 8 played in Brooklyn. Joe Harris will once again bet out, the team announced yesterday that he will undergo surgery on his ankle which should keep him out for a couple of months.

Despite struggling to cover the spread at home, the Nets are still 15-5 SU in their last 20 at Barclays Center. They’ve won the last 3 against the Knicks, but all 3 games were close and were decided by 2, 5 and 7 points. I have a feeling the Knicks could once again keep this one close, so let’s back them plus the extra points.

Brooklyn Nets – New York Knicks Predictions & Odds

New York +6.5 Point Spread is available at -110 odds on bet365

In all 3 previous meetings both teams went over the 100 point mark fairly easily. In those games we’ve seen an average of 226.6 points per game and all 3 of them went over the total. And that’s been the trend in the last few Brooklyn games too as 4 of their last 5 have also cashed on the over, including their last 5 in a row vs Eastern Conference opponents. This Nets defense hasn’t been convincing as of late, they’ve allowed 100+ points in 4 straight and in their last 3 teams are averaging 109.7 per game. New York posts similar numbers, they are allowing 106.2 points per game this season and 102.7 per game on the road. Containing the likes of KD and Harden will be an issue as we’ve seen in the previous 3 meetings. I think we are in for a higher scoring game here, so let’s back the over.
