Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks | Tip & Odds (03.5.2022)

Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks betting tips and predictions for Tuesday’s NBA Eastern Conference Playoff game on TNT. After a shockingly easy win in Game 1, the Milwaukee Bucks look to go up 2-0 in their series against the Boston Celtics as the two teams clash for Game 2 at the TD Garden tonight. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Boston Celtics

Boston CelticsGame 1 was a performance to forget for the Celtics as they scored just 89 points, one of their lowest totals of the entire season so far. Their star duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum combined for just 33 points on 10-for-31 shooting, while as a team they only shot 33% from the field. They did drain 18 three-pointers, but only on 36% shooting and it took them 50 attempts to get there.

From 84 shots total, 50 of them were from downtown, that just shows how clogged up the middle was in Game 1 and how Boston will need to adapt if they want to level things up here. I expect both Brown and Tatum to be far more aggressive here, but also limit their turnovers as they committed 5 of them more than the Bucks did in the loss on Sunday.

Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee BucksNot a lot of people had the Bucks winning Game 1, especially since Khris Middleton went down with his knee injury which will likely have him out for the entire series. Giannis Antetokounmpo once again took matters into his own hands and finished with a triple-double of 24 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. He didn’t have the best of shooting games going just 9-for-25, but that’s okay as players like Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis stepped up with 25 and 15 points.

They’ll need a similar effort tonight if they plan on going 2-0 up, this might be the hardest game they’ve played so far this season with their opponent being in a must win scenario almost. The win at the TD Garden was only the 1st time 8 games the Bucks were able to cover the spread against Boston and the 1st time in their last 5 visits.

Going 2-0 down after 2 home games is not an option for Boston. They’ve been one of the better home teams in the NBA this season winning 30 of 44 games. Head coach Ime Udoka will make necessary changes and we’ll see a completely different approach here than the “let’s shoot as many threes as we can” we saw in Game 1. Take the Celtics to cover.

Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks Predictions & Odds

Just 190 points were scored in Game 1 which was the lowest point total in the 5 games these teams have played so far in the regular season and playoffs. Something tells me we could be in for a similar game tonight as the Celtics try to even things out.

Running with the Bucks isn’t recommended, things can get out of hand very easily if you try that tactic. Instead, the Celtics will have to rely on what’s gotten them in this situation in the first place and that is their defence. Robert Williams III is back, I’m expecting them to get back to the defence that we saw in the last 2 months of the regular season when they had the 2nd best defensive efficiency.

Milwaukee had it’s fair share of issues scoring the ball in Game 1 as they finished shooting just 41% from the field, without a reliable option like Middleton everyone needs to be sharp and if either one of Giannis or Holiday doesn’t have it going things can get rough very easily on that end. With the total going under in 5 of 6 for Milwaukee and in 4 of the last 6 games played on a Tuesday for Boston, I think backing the under is the way to go once again here.
