Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors betting tips and predictions for Thursday’s NBA game on TNT. It’s a rematch of last year’s NBA Finals as the Warriors and Celtics conclude their regular season series tonight at TD Garden. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.
Boston is in a similar state heading into tonight’s game vs Golden State just like they were in the 1st meeting of the season at Chase Center. That game they lost 123-107, which was a huge disappointment at the time. Jayson Tatum was limited to just 18 points, while as a team Boston had only 17 assists which was the difference maker in the end. Since then the Celtics have continued playing well, they have won 7 games in a row, 3 of their last 4 have ended with double-digit victories.
They’ve been without their 2nd best player Jaylen Brown for the past couple of games, he is officially listed as questionable here with a leg injury, so he might return to the line-up. Boston is undefeated in 6 games at TD Garden, they’ve also gone 14-4 SU in their last 18 vs Western Conference opponents. At 13-9 ATS they are one of the more reliable home teams in the NBA this season.
Golden State Warriors
The 1st meeting of the season was probably one of the best games from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson together all season long. The Splash bros duo combined for 66 points, connecting on 10 threes from 22 attempts. It’s hard to beat the Warriors when they are playing like that, but unfortunately for them they haven’t been able to replicate those type of performances on a consistent basis this season.
Road form has been a concern all year long, they’ve shown signs of improvement winning 2 of their last 3 away from home, but they are still a long way to go before becoming a relevant team on the road with just 5 wins in 22 games so far. Andre Iguodala has been ruled out of tonight’s game with a hip injury, while Klay Thompson has been upgraded to probable after missing the game at Washington. Steph Curry had 41 in that win, while Klay’s replacement Jordan Poole finished with 32.
It’s always a fun encounter when these two teams match-up. I just can’t imagine the Warriors stealing one on the road, as it’ll be the 1st post-Finals match-up in Boston and the crowd will be up for it. So will the Celtics players, so I think this is an easy Boston win.
Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors Predictions & Odds
After scoring 130 and 122 in their last 2 games vs Charlotte, the Celtics now face a much tougher team in the Warriors, but defensively Golden State isn’t much better than the Hornets, at least not in road games. They just allowed 118, 132 and 113 points in their last 3 games away from home, they have the 3rd worst defensive rating only ahead of Houston and San Antonio. Teams are averaging 119.1 points per 100 possessions against them, plus they have a Net Rating of -7.1 on the road.
The total has cashed on the over 6 times in the last 7 Warriors games, plus in 10 of 10 on the road. For the season only 5 of 22 road games haven’t gone over the total, which is all you need to know ahead of tonight’s game. Boston is also 15-7 on the O/U at TD Garden, so it will be shocking if this game doesn’t go over the total. Back the points.
