The winning streak unfortunately came to an end for the Boston Celtics who fell 121-107 on the road in Chicago. Tatum and Brown did their best with 28 and 25 points, while Malcolm Brogdon added 23 off the bench, but the Cs defense wasn’t on it’s usual level allowing Chicago to shoot 51% from the field and 48.3% from downtown.
Tonight they face one of the elite Western Conference teams, they’ve beaten the last 4 of 5 teams from that conference. Boston is also 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games played on a Wednesday at home. The big concern ahead of tonight’s game is Tatum’s ankle, he has been listed as questionable, but should be able to suit up.
Dallas Mavericks
The Mavs’ MVP candidate Doncic is doing just fine, at least when it comes to health. On the court his team just suffered an unexpected loss at home against a Nuggets side that was without Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. They’ve now dropped 2 of their last 3, which is a bit concerning, however a win tonight would tie their record with the New Orleans Pelicans atop of the Southwest Division standings.
The road form is something Dallas needs to work on, they’ve won just 1 of their last 8 games away from home. November appears to be their worst month in terms of covering the spread – in the last 12 games they’ve covered just once. They too have a pair of injury concerns with Spencer Dinwiddie being doubtful with a shoulder injury, while Maxi Kleber is doubtful with a back issue.
It all depends on Tatum’s availability here. Boston has been convincing at home, but the level of urgency will be higher on the Mavs side as they try to claw their way back up the standings. I’m taking the road team here.

This will be a clash between Boston’s number one offense in the NBA and the Mavs’ who are just outside of the Top 10 sitting in 11th. Both teams are in the bottom 10 of the NBA in terms of pace, Dallas averages just 97.2 possessions per game which is dead last in the league, while Boston is at 101.3 per game.
When needed, the Mavs are capable of putting up huge offensive numbers, they just dropped 127 against the Denver Nuggets a couple of nights ago. In 7 home games so far this season, Boston has a 6-1 record on the O/U with a few of their games going way over the total. I think that trend continues tonight, Dallas has also played the over in 9 of their last 11 games vs Eastern Conference teams. Let’s take the points here.
