Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets | Tip & Odds (20.4.2022)

Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets betting tips and predictions for Wednesday’s NBA Eastern Conference Playoff game on TNT. After an intense Game 1 victory, the Boston Celtics look to go up 2-0 on the Brooklyn Nets as the two teams face off once again at TD Garden. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Boston Celtics

Boston CelticsBelieve it or not, the game-winning buzzer beater lay-up by Jayson Tatum in Game 1 was the first ever such shot in Boston Celtics postseason history. For a team with so many championship banners hanging in the rafters, that is a really interesting stat.

The Celtics will take it though, it doesn’t matter how they win as long as they get the job done. Tatum finished the game with 31 points, while 3 other starts Smart, Brown and Horford all chipped in 20 or more.

If they can sustain that effort moving forward, the Celtics will be in a solid position to get this over in 6 games. Game 2 will be different though, Brooklyn is bound to make adjustments, so it all depends on coach Ime Udoka can respond properly. His team is now 16-4 SU in their last 20 games.

Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn NetsKyrie Irving had a spectacular performance in Game 1 with 39 points, but that was overshadowed by his going back and forth with the Celtics fans, which resulted in a $50.000 fine yesterday. Irving was fined for obscene gestures towards the fans, so it’ll be interesting to see if the situation changes in Game 2 after the fine by the league.

Kevin Durant had a poor game with just 23 points and 6 turnovers. Much of those were a result of the way the game was refereed. It remains to be seen if the officials will allow another physical game like that tonight, if not then Durant could go off here.

Going down 2-0 will make the Nets’ lives difficult as then they would have to win 4 of the next 5 in order to advance, something that is not very likely. The good news is they’ve already won once at Boston during the regular season, so they know what it takes.

Game 1 was as close as it gets, I expect nothing else from every single game in this series so it would be a good idea to back the handicap on the road team here. The Nets showed they can beat Boston, and with a bit of luck on their side tonight the series will be level. Back Brooklyn and the extra points.

Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets Predictions & Odds

The projected total of 226 points set for tonight’s game has been surpassed in 3 of 4 regular season meetings and in Game 1 of the playoff series. We’ve seen quite a bit of defence played by both teams on Sunday and still, it was a relatively high scoring game. Kevin Durant struggled shooting from the field going just 9-for-24, surely that cannot happen two games in a row? The pace in Game 1 was a fast one, I don’t see any reason why that would change as it fits players perfectly in both camps.

The total has now gone over in 5 straight head-to-head meetings and over the last 10 these teams have averaged 232.2 points per game. Games played at TD Garden have gone over the total in 5 straight between these two, so that’s another factor working in our favour here. Boston has gone over in 11 of their last 13 overall, while the Nets have done so in 11 of their last 16 vs Atlantic Division opponents. If this game is any good as the one we saw on Sunday, we are in for yet another high paced entertaining game here. Back to the points.
