The Bucks are slowly turning things around following a sub-par start to the season. Injuries have derailed the first couple of weeks for the defending champions, but now Jrue Holiday is finally back and the team is clicking with two straight wins over the Knicks and 76ers. Khris Middleton still remains out as he’s dealing with Covid, Brook Lopez is out too with a neck issue. The worry for Bucks fans prior to this game is the status of Giannis Antetokounmpo who injured his ankle in the game against New York, his status still says “questionable”, but knowing him he will do everything he can to be ready. The Bucks will need their 2-time MVP as they’ve covered the spread just once in their last 6 games against Boston.
Boston Celtics
Boston has also had a rough start to the season and just like the Bucks they are getting back on track. And they are doing so without the services of Jaylen Brown who has missed the last 4 games with a hamstring injury. They haven’t missed him that much though as they’ve won 3 of those 4 games facing some stiff competition along the way. In their latest 104-88 win over Toronto it was Jayson Tatum who led the way with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Dennis Schroder also chipped in with 20 points, his contract is starting to look like one of the biggest bargains in the league. The C’s are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and on the season they’ve covered the spread in 6 of 9 games.
I’m having a hard time backing the Bucks here, mainly because of the ankle injury to Giannis. That tells me he won’t be at 100% and with so many other injuries, the Bucks are severely shorthanded. Boston has the home crowd advantage and have looked really good in their last 4 games. I’m taking the Celtics and the extra points in this one.

When you compare these two teams statistically they look almost identical on paper. Both are averaging 108 points per game, both are shooting at 43% from the field, both average almost the same amount of rebounds (46 compared to 45) and they shoot the three-ball at an almost identical clip of 35 and 33 percent. Their games have been high scoring recently with 7 of the last 10 going over the total, but I have a feeling things will be different this time around. Boston is missing a 20-point per game scorer in Brown, Bucks are missing the same in Middleton plus Lopez and DiVincenzo as well, so they could have issues coming up with points down the stretch. Milwaukee games have been very profitable when betting on the under with 8 of 9 cashing in. I think this trend continues tonight as well, Boston gets the win in a low scoring contest.
