The Nicholls State Colonels have a surprisingly great start of the season winning the first three games.
In their first game of the season, they defeated the Northern Iowa Panthers on the road by 62-58, interestingly winning both halves with the same result – 31-29.

The next two games for the Colonels were back-to-back blowout victiors against Carver College.
In the first game, Nicholls State won by 120-52 setting a new program record for the highest win. Ty Gordon was once again the leading scorer with 21 points followed by Latrell Jones who had 15 points in 20 minutes.
The next game between the two schools was another Colonels’ blow out winning 101-44. They hit 12 three-pointers on 34 shots. Senior Emmanuel Little was the best player on the court scoring 20 points in 19 minutes off the bench.

Nicholls State will have a reality check against one of the best teams in the country. The previous three wins wouldn’t make much of a difference when they face the reigning champions.
