Atlanta Hawks vs Golden State Warriors betting tips and predictions for Friday’s NBA game on NBA TV. Atlanta hopes to end a mini 2-game slide as they host the defending champions Warriors in the 2nd and final meeting between the two teams this season. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta HawksLosing the last 2 games was a tough blow for the Atlanta Hawks who are now just a half game up in the standings over the Toronto Raptors for the 8th spot in the East. What’s even more concerning is their defensive effort in those 2 games, they allowed 134 to the Celtics and then followed it up with 136 against the Timberwolves.

Over their last 5 games they’ve allowed 130+ points 3 times, those type of efforts on defense this late in the season are concerning. Obviously the team is still getting used to their new head coach, but at some point it comes down to effort and the Hawks just aren’t showing any at this point. They have a solid opportunity tonight vs the Warriors, who they’ve beaten 4 times in the last 6 meetings, covering the spread in 4 of those games.

Golden State Warriors

Golden State WarriorsIs it finally time for the Warriors to end their road drought? They’re one of the worst teams in the NBA away from home, having won just 7 of 34 games so far and we just witnessed them get beat by the Clippers 134-126, despite getting 50 points from Steph Curry.

Life will be even more difficult tonight as Draymond Green has been suspended for tonight’s game, Curry is questionable with a thumb injury, while Andre Iguodala, Gary Payton II and Andrew Wiggins remain out with injuries. Golden State’s track record in games vs Atlanta is pretty good – they’re 15-5 SU in the last 20 meetings, but it all comes down to their road form. They’ve not covered the spread in 9 straight games, at State Farm Arena they’re just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 played.

The Warriors are just a hot mess right now, in road games that is. Not having Curry lowers their already slim chances of getting a win here. I’m rolling with the Hawks who are in desperate need of a win.

Atlanta Hawks vs Golden State Warriors Predictions & Odds

I must say I haven’t seen this big of a projected total since this year’s All-Star game. The Hawks and Warriors are projected to score around 247.5 points tonight, in theory that would mean both teams would have to go over 123 points for this bet to land. I know the Warriors have been horrible on defense in road games, but if the rumors are true and Curry doesn’t play here they might struggle on the offensive end as they’ll only have Klay Thompson to rely on.

The first meeting of the season ended with 284 points scored, however we did see an extra 5 minutes in that game as it went into overtime. Atlanta has gone under in 4 of their last 5 games vs Western Conference opponents, I just can’t wrap my head around this huge number. Let’s go with the under.
