Atlanta Hawks – Milwaukee Bucks Predictions & Odds

Milwaukee Bucks vs Atlanta Hawks betting tips and predictions for Sunday’s clash in the NBA. It’s a re-match of last season’s Eastern Conference finals as the Milwaukee Bucks head to Atlanta to take on the Hawks. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee BucksThe Milwaukee Bucks will conclude a 5-game road trip with tonight’s game, they’ve won 2 and lost 2 games so far. Giannis Antetokounmpo took the night off last time out in Boston, his team put up a good fight but in the end they fell 122-113. The good news for Bucks fans is that Jrue Holiday managed to play 41 minutes in that game, further building up his conditioning after returning from a long layoff. The 2-time MVP should return to the line-up tonight though, his status was upgraded from ‘questionable’ to ‘probable’ by the team’s health officials. Brook Lopez remains out with a back injury and there’s still no update on Khris Middleton who has been out for a while now due to covid-19. Milwaukee has done well against Atlanta in recent games, they’ve beaten them 16 times in the last 20 head-to-head.

Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta HawksTrae Young and Co. are in a pretty rough spot coming into this game. They recently came back from a 4-game road trip having lost all 4 games and are currently only 13th in the Eastern Conference with just 4 wins and 9 losses. To illustrate just how bad they’ve performed lately, they have just 1 win more than the laughing stock of the league – the Detroit Pistons. We all know the Hawks are better than this and it’s only a matter of time when they turn it around, but the question is when? In their last two games they scored only 98 and 96 points, while on the defensive end they’ve given up 100+ points in 9 games in a row. They’ll yet again be without De’Andre Hunter who is still out with a wrist injury, joining him on the sidelines could be Bogdan Bogdanovic who has issues with his ankle, but he is a game-time decision. The Hawks could use him, they’ve failed to cover the spread in their last 6 games.

It all depends on the status of Giannis Antetokounmpo for this game. If he plays then I’d side with the Bucks without much hesitation. But if he does not play, that opens the door for Atlanta. They are 3-1 at home this season, which is actually solid compared to their away form. With that uncertainty in the air, I’m going to side with the Hawks for this one. Atlanta to cover.

We’ve mentioned the Hawks issues when it comes to scoring, the defending champs haven’t performed well on that end either as of late. They’ve scored under 100 points in 4 of their last 5 games, mainly because of so many players being out with injuries. They get Jrue Holiday back, but lose Giannis the next game. This team can’t catch a break from the injury bug at this point, I’m worried they might struggle scoring in this game if the Greek Freak does not play. The total has gone under in 8 of their last 10 games and more importantly in 5 of their last 6 visits to Atlanta. If the Hawks are without sharpshooter Bogdanovic that’s an automatic minus of 15 points at least and a ton of quality three-point shooting. With them playing so bad right now I’m not really sure they’ll be able to compensate for such a loss. Add all this up and you have yourself a low scoring game between two teams riddled with injuries. Let’s back the under.
