The season didn’t start promising at all for the Anaheim Ducks as they lost seven of their first nine games but Dallas Eakins’ team has made a huge improvement. Currently, the Ducks are on top of the Pacific Division and third in the Western Conference with a 16-9-5 record trailing only two points behind the leading Minnesota Wild.

Troy Terry scored his second goal of the game on a penalty shot in the overtime for Anaheim. He beat fifth-string goalie Jon Gillies on a backhander at 3:58 of the extra period for his team-leading 17th goal of the season.
Buddy Robinson also scored for Anaheim, which ended the Blues’ seven-game home winning streak. Anthony Stolarz made 23 saves.
Anaheim is 12th in goals per game at 3.07 and in shooting percentage at 9.6%. The Ducks are fifth on the power-play at 25.3%.

As expected, the Seattle Kraken have a tough first season at the league but despite the negative record, they have earned the respect of every hockey fan. With wins over Edmonton, Florida and Carolina, Dave Hakstol’s team has shown that can win against the best.
Still, Seattle is eighth in the Pacific Division and 14th in the Western Conference with a 10-15-3 record.

Ryan Donato broke a scoreless tie early in the third period of his return to San Jose where he spent the last season with the Sharks.
Brandon Tanev added an insurance goal that proved key when Logan Couture finally got the Sharks on the board when he scored with the San Jose net empty with 2:07 to play. Calle Jarnkrok sealed the game with an empty-net goal.
Chris Driedger made 33 saves to help Seattle snap a three-game skid.
Seattle is 18th in goals per game at 2.85 and 11th in shooting percentage at 10.0%. The power-play is 22nd overall at 17.3%.
