With a 28-9 SU record since 2022 started, the Boston Celtics can definitely make a case for being the best team so far this year. Jayson Tatum is playing on another level, if it wasn’t for the slower start to the year I’m sure he would get consideration for MVP honours.
Boston has won 4 in a row, one of those wins was a 20-point drubbing of the Denver Nuggets in their own building which doesn’t happen often. They’ll be looking for revenge against the Utah Jazz team which beat them 137-130 earlier in the season.
The Celtics haven’t had much luck against them recently with just a 1-4 ATS record over the last 5 home games. But, what is encouraging is their 9-2 SU record over the last 11 home games overall. Marcus Smart was questionable with an illness, but it looks like he will probably be able to play after recovering from an illness.

One player the Utah Jazz won’t be able to count on tonight is Bojan Bogdanovic who has been ruled out with a wrist injury. The Croatian sharpshooter will be missed heavily here as he has averaged 27.3 points per game over his last 4 outings, but the Jazz will have to pull through without him.
Donovan Mitchell is one guy likely to pick up the slack, in that earlier win over Boston this season he had a very efficient 34 points, so look for him to have another solid game here.
Although the Jazz is coming off a loss at Brooklyn, they did win 3 of their last 4 games and will need to continue winning here if they want to keep the 4th seed in the West as Dallas is just 1 game behind them. They’ve actually beaten the Celtics in 6 of the last 7 head-to-head and are 6-2 SU in their last 8 vs East teams which is very promising.
The Jazz has been solid lately, but as underdogs, they are just 1-5 SU this season. Boston is favoured by 5.5 points here, which should be doable considering they are on a run of 17 wins in their last 20 games. Back the home team to cover here.

The first meeting of the season finished with 267 points scored, as much as I like both of these teams offensively I must say I do not believe there is a way this game finishes anywhere close to that number.
The Celtics’ defence has improved massively since that game, they actually lead the NBA in defensive efficiency now allowing just 103.1 points per 100 possessions and that alone is the reason why they have been so successful lately. The Jazz has also improved on that end, they are 8th allowing 106.9 points and with Rudy Gobert finally being healthy they have a really solid interior presence.
The total has gone under in 4 of the last 6 meetings between these 2 teams, while for Utah the under has been trending quite a lot lately. Their last 9 of 11 games have all finished under, including their last 5 in a row on the road.
I think whoever comes out on top in this game will do so while playing extremely well on defence, so my advice would be to go with the under.
