It’s been a hectic week for the Brooklyn Nets so far. Just days after trading away their disgruntled star Kyrie Irving they once again made headlines by doing so with their best player Kevin Durant. KD was sent to Phoenix in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and picks.
None of those players will be available to play tonight, so the Nets will once again have to rely on Cam Thomas who has been on an offensive tear lately. They’ve dropped 3 of their last 4 games, getting out of this slump against the Bulls will be difficult as they are just 1-4 SU/ATS in the last 5 meetings. All hope is not lost though as they’ve covered the spread 5 games in a row at home.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls were also involved in several trade rumors before the deadline, but none have materialized as of yet. They are rumored to make a move for Russell Westbrook if he becomes available following a buyout from the Utah Jazz, that would certainly make things interesting as they already have a couple of ball dominant players on the team.
Before any of that happens though, they have a solid chance of bouncing back after a tough loss at Memphis the other night. DeMar DeRozan didn’t play in that game due to a hip issue, he has been upgraded to questionable ahead of this one. He’s averaging 28 points per game on the road this season, with him the Bulls are on a different level. Eastern Conference teams have certainly felt that, Chicago has covered in 12 of 17 games against them.
DeRozan or no DeRozan, the Bulls should be taking care of business here. The Nets are in limbo after trading away their two superstars, it’ll be a tough 2nd part of the season for them. Take Chicago to cover.
