This will be their first home game in 2023, after such a long absence they might come out a bit flat here. The Suns made headlines last night by trading for Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant. Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 picks head to the Nets, which is a lot of talent, but in exchange Phoenix gets a top 15 player all-time. KD is currently out and dealing with a knee injury so we might not get to see him play for his new team until after the All-Star break.
Until then, Phoenix could struggle a bit as they’ve given away 2 very important rotation players. For tonight’s game they’ll also be without Devin Booker who will sit this one out because of injury maintenance. The Suns have covered in 8 of 11 games, plus they have 5 wins in 6 outings. However, against the Hawks in the last 10 meetings they’ve got just 3 wins which is really surprising.

Mikal Bridges normally makes up for the absence of star players in Phoenix, but with him gone now and Booker scheduled to miss this game, the Suns could really struggle with scoring the ball here. Atlanta is well equipped to neutralize Deandre Ayton on the inside with Clint Capela, while CP3 is at an advanced age right now and they just cannot rely on him consistently to carry the offense.
The only reason why the total went over in the last meeting was because Atlanta scored 132 points, after seeing them score just 115, 108 and 107 points in the 3 games since I’m not sure they can repeat that output here. I still have the Hawks winning, but it will be a lower scoring game, somewhere in the mid 220s. Go with the under in this one.
